Ghana soccer star Sulley Muntari has provided one of the most heartwarming moments of the World Cup, after handing out money to one of the poorest communities in Brazil.
Muntari received special permission from his national team boss Kwesi Appiah to visit the people of Maceio. While there he signed autographs and posed for photographs with the children, before handing out cash to the disadvantaged locals.
Ghana, where Sulley comes from is riddled with poverty & ranks much lower than Brazil in the United Nations Human Development Index** and his actions prove that although we cant help everyone, everyone can help someone.
**The United Nations Human Development Index – a comparative measure of life expectancy, literacy, education and standards of living for countries worldwide – ranks Brazil as 85th & Ghana as 135th out of 187 countries.
